Mateusz joined the Morefit team in 2016 and has over 10 years of physical training experience, four of which were spent in the U.S. Army. From a young age Mateusz loved to stay active and be outdoors – be it camping, hiking, swimming or just running around the yard. This active lifestyle led him to play sports like baseball and basketball. Mateusz joined the Army out of High School and during this time is where he discovered his passion for staying physically fit. His ability to motivate and encourage fellow soldiers to push themselves further and harder was unmatched – even overseas, during his 14 month tour in Iraq, his motivation was unmoved. Mateusz has completed several 5K races and obstacle courses such as – The BlumShaprio 5K at Travels TPC, Corey’s Catsup & Mustard 5K in Manchester, a Warrior Dash/Mud Run and the dreaded Tough Mudder in Vermont.
Mateusz’s focus now is to share his experience and knowledge to help others attain their physical fitness goals. Along with this new focus, Mateusz continues gaining knowledge by furthering his education and experience through his participation and involvement in fitness activities.
I was raised in Moodus, Connecticut; my family still lives here and I recently moved back home to help out my family. I am a dancer…that is my passion and the talent God gave to me. I choreographed all of my high school plays, worked at a theater while in high school, and went to college for dance.
I completed Army ROTC at Lehigh University in 1991, and continued with a dance minor at the same time. As an officer in the US Army I got the chance to jump out of planes, rappel, and run obstacle courses. I also started the first Women’s Army Ten-Miler team for the 4th Infantry Division in 1999.
I became interested in bodybuilding for competition, which was a challenge that I relished. I entered three bodybuilding competitions from 2006 through 2009.
Over the past 25 years or so, I have dabbled in performing and training a variety of exercises: aerobics, Cross-fit, Pilates, Tae Bo, weightlifting, and yoga. I was trusted by many institutions to lead group training activities, even my church in Texas, where I led a twice-weekly ladies’ exercise class with a Bible study for two and a half years.
I finally decided in 2013 to invest in the course materials and test through what is considered to be one of the most widely recognized authority on Personal Training, the American Council on Exercise (ACE). I have been certified since August 2, 2014. Additionally, I received my certification as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist on July 21, 2016.
Last year, I led a team of nine women in the PowerUp Step challenge that my company Booz Allen Hamilton conducted. Our team endured during this challenge to rise up from # 350 out of 731 teams to finish at #86!
Balancing work, family, and healthy living is not always easy, but I believe that being physically healthy assists one in being overall healthy and able to find that balance. My goal is to assist others with finding that balance for themselves.
